What is a Thai foot massage?
Thai foot massage (nuad tao) comes from the northern Thai massage tradition. The therapist uses thumbs, knuckles and a small wooden stick to apply firm, rhythmic pressure along lines that run from the toes up to the knees.
It is more active than a spa foot rub. Expect pressure points, kneading of the calves, gentle stretches of the toes and ankles, and a short shoulder release at the end.
What to expect at Baan Sabai
- You sit in a reclining chair, fully clothed. Only shoes and socks come off.
- Your feet are cleaned with warm towels before the treatment starts.
- A light balm is used. Add hot oil or aromatherapy oil for €10 if you like.
- Tell your therapist if you prefer softer or firmer pressure — it's your treatment.
Which duration should I choose?
20 minutes is a quick recharge between sights. 40 minutes is our most popular choice and covers feet and calves properly. 60 or 90 minutes gives time to work deeper on the legs and fully switch off.
Who is it for?
Visitors who have walked the city all day, people who stand at work, runners and cyclists, and anyone who wants a calm moment in the centre. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or have an injury on the feet or legs, please mention it before your treatment.
